1690 - The first manual Fire Engine at Alresford was kept in the tower of the Church.
1858 - A Horse drawn Fire Engine was purchased with 160ft of hose for £135.00 and was stored at the Swan Hotel.
1879 - Alresford Volunteer Fire Brigade was formed and it was headed by Captain Marx.
1881 - Town trust built a Fire Station in Broad Street. This was in use until 1940 when the existing Station was opened, and is still use today. |
